It’s been a few years… I dodged the Covid-19 bullet for two whole years. Today surprisingly I just tested positive but have been otherwise asymptomatic.
I remember it like it was yesterday. The panic in the air, the way everyone was talking about it as if it was the end of the world. I was one of the lucky ones; I managed to avoid getting sick until 2022. It wasn’t luck… I worked hard to keep my immune system strong, and here are some of the things that I did:
I started taking herbs as soon as I heard about the outbreak. I’m not talking about echinacea or goldenseal, I’m talking about powerful immune-boosting herbs like Toniiq Ultra Concentrated Ashwagandha, Herb Pharm’s Astragalus Immune Support, and Host Defense Reishi Mushroom. I took them in capsule & tincture form so that I could get the most potent dose possible.
Immune modulating herbs are great, but they’re not the only thing that I did. I also made sure to get plenty of sleep. I know that sounds like common sense, but trust me, it makes a big difference.
I also started paying more attention to my diet and making sure that I was getting enough nutrients. I made sure to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, and I cut out sugar as much as possible. I also started taking supplements like Garden of Life Raw Vitamin C, New Chapter Fermented Zinc Complex, and Wholesome Wellness Raw Probiotic. I also made sure to get plenty of sleep. I know that sounds like common sense, but trust me, it makes a big difference.
Lastly, I made sure to avoid any unnecessary stress. I know that can be easier said than done, but I made an effort to practice mindfulness every day and to take some time for myself.
All of these things helped me to avoid getting sick for as long as possible. And while I just tested positive for Covid-19, I know that my immune system is strong enough to fight it off. As a frontline healthcare worker myself, I’m always trying work on immune support.
So, if you’re looking to avoid getting sick, I recommend that you try some of these things as well. Looks like I have some time to work on the blog while I sit alone at home in isolation.
